After Cyprus rejected EU aid to bail it out, there have been talks with Moscow about the country’s money woes.

Despite being 2,400km away from Moscow, Cyprus is home to many Russians who have settled and set up banks, shops and schools.

The EU is said to be ‘uncomfortable’ with Russia potentially bailing out Cyprus and there is even talk that their euro membership is at stake. In return for financial help, Russia wants access to offshore resources.
