An offshore wind farm built last year off the coast of Cumbria aims to double its size and becomes the world’s largest wind farm.
The Walney wind farm currently has 102 turbines 14km from the land. Extending its size would overtake the London Array wind farm’s title of largest in the world with its 175 turbines.
The extension would provide energy to hundreds of thousands of homes.
