Did you know that some types of French cheese are banned in the United States? This is due to the fact that some of these cheeses are made with raw unpasteurised milk that has aged for over 60 days.

This nifty little map highlights cheeses from around France as well as a few from surrounding countries.

My favourite French cheese is Port Salut, which is available to Americans due to the milk being pasteurised. Another nice soft cheese is Camembert, but if you’re looking for something a bit stronger (and smellier), you can’t go wrong with a bit of Roquefort!
