Er is wieder da (He’s back) is currently a bestselling novel in Germany. What’s it about? Ghostwriter Timur Vermes writes as Adolf Hitler waking up in 2011 after sleeping since 1945. He quickly becomes a celebrity before having a stab at politics. Vermes claims that the book brings to light the idea that Hitler could still succeed in our day and age just as he did before, but through the use of different methods.

Response has been mixed, but it’s already obtained foreign licenses as well as film rights due to its current popularity.

Would you read such a book? The price tag is a little heftier than most books, priced at €19.33… If there’s a sequel book, I wonder if inflation will take it up to €19.39?
